Perayaan Kamis Putih di Toraja Dijaga Aparat Bersenjata
TODAY, MAKALE – Personel bersenjata lengkap diturunkan mengamankan perayaan Kamis Putih di Gereja Katolik Santa Perawan Maria Hati Tak Bernoda Paroki Makale, Tana Toraja.
Pantauan torajadaily, personel yang diturunkan berjumlah puluhan. Selain polisi, aparat TNI, Satpol PP Tana Toraja hingga ormas kepemudaan (GMNI) juga diturunkan.
Sebelum masuk ke halaman gereja, satu persatu jemaat diperiksa barang bawaannya oleh petugas yang berjaga di gerbang.
“Pengamanan dilakukan secara terbuka dan tertutup untuk mencegah hal-hal yang tak diinginkan,” tutur Ipda Cons selaku Perwira pengendali di Gereja Katolik Santa Perawan Maria Hati Tak Bernoda Paroki Makalee
Sebelum pelaksaanan ibadah, pihak keamanan juga telah mensterilkan lokasi gereja. Tak hanya di gerbang, petugas juga disiagakan di sekitar gereja dengan radius tertentu.
“Selain berjaga di gereja kita juga turunkan personel mobile menggunakan motor. Sedangkan lainnya mengatur lalu lintas,” imbuhnya.
Sementara itu, perayaan Kamis Putih yang dimulai pukul 17.00 Wita diikuti oleh ribuan umat Katolik.
Bagi umat Katolik, Kamis Putih disebut juga sebagai hari kamis terakhir sebelum Paskah, dimana umat Katolik diajak merenungkan perjamuan terakhir yang dipimpin Yesus bersama murid-muridnya.
Perjamuan terakhir ini adalah waktu sebelum Yesus ditangkap, diadili, dan disalibkan hingga wafat. (Atj)
